If it makes you feel better, I ask myself the same questions. I refuse esoteric. But I used to open a big fat 100 lb. Webster dictionary and randomly pick words. It worked the same way for me.
Even when you strip away the mysticism of the I Ching or Tarot…or even a good old Webster, you are still left with an object of contemplation. I’m not sure who I’m paraphrasing here but “I don’t know how the I Ching works, I just know that it does.”
